The four conveyor belt sections are fabricated by Staalbouw Smid, located in Hoogkerk (Groningen, the Netherlands). On site, the sections were transported by Wagenborg Nedlift's dolly combination up to below crane hook.
With dimensions up to 45 meters long, 5 meters wide, 3,5 meters high and a weight up to 62 tonnes, this appeared to be a fine job for Wagenborg Nedlifts largest mobile cranes, the 500 tons and 700 tons mobile crane. Because of the high lifting level, both cranes were equipped with a luffing jib.
All in all a spectacular tandem lift operation!
The narrow space on site was a real challenge in this project. Both the 500 tons and 700 tons mobile cranes were positioned up to the centimeter exact in order to be able to perform the lift. Due to lifting height of the conveyor belt, which had to be installed above existing sugar mill structure, both cranes were equipped with luffing jib. Equipped with this configuration, the operation of turning the piece between the cranes and positioning onto foundation could be done. The full operation was carefully engineered and prepared in close cooperation with the client.
The result: a reliable and safe lifting operation by the Wagenborg Nedlift team and a satisfied customer!
